Norfolk County comes down hard on Hasting Drive Property owners
Norfolk County is cracking down on Hastings Drive in Long Point.
Many landowners on the controversial stretch of land are facing charges due to zoning bylaw violations. Their punishment will be decided on December 10th in a Simcoe Court. While the county confirmed those details, they could not confirm how many people were facing charges. With that, we have received messages from listeners saying that potentially over a dozen individuals were charged and it was about having trailers on their property.
The Ontario Municipal Board ruled back in April that the lands could only be used for day use and trailers were not to be allowed on the property due to the sensitive nature of the hazard lands.
