This controversial issue was discussed yet again at Town Hall after our elected received a letter from Ellen and Suzanne Boyce. They expressed their frustrations after spending time and money on the Hastings Drive zoning issue only to have council withdrawal their intentions to allow RV's on Hazard Lands in closed session.

They wanted to know Council's next steps and Chris Baird, general manager of planning and economic development, says they are essentially back to the beginning. He says the best course of action would be a zoning bylaw amendment which would help strengthen the wording that currently exists. Baird notes they are likely to see another appeal to the Ontario Municipal Board but if they are simply strengthen terms in the existing bylaw they are more likely to be standing on solid ground for the hearings.
