Open Pavilion

February 17, 2018

After applying and obtaining a permit for an open pavilion, I had another Winter project on my hands.  So with the first warm day in February I jumped at the chance to get started on it.

This open pavilion is replacing the sun umbrella above the picnic table, which blew out last summer.  It will be great for keeping the sun and elements off this section of the dock, especially with a newborn now around this coming season.  Most of the Cedar I was able to source from the Wood Shed in Smithville, and the roofing material from Wise Line Metal out of Tillsonburg.

It only took me two attempts to get the angle of the roof right, yet in the end it came together well, and the cedar has a warm look which matches the dock.   Looking forward to the lake ice breaking up now and getting the boat back on the dock.
